There is only two ways to fish a fly -
with action or on a dead drift. Still
water usually requires that the
angler impart action that imitates the
real bugs, crustaceans, and baitfish
that live in the ponds, lakes and
reservoirs. Imitating the behavior of
trout food requires a good
knowledge of the natural. Many of
the insects and other trout foods
found in still water doesn't exist in
streams and rivers and the angler
new to "Stillwater" has a lot to
learn. Learn to select locations in
lakes and ponds where trout come to
you and when and how to fish various
depths. Various segments of the
program cover fishing from banks,
wading, float tubes and boats. The
program was produced on some of
the most popular lakes in the nation.
