The Missouri River is made up of the Madison, the Jefferson and the Gallatin Rivers. The
pictures above were taken below the Holter Dam. This section of the river probably provides
the best trout fishing. Even during seasons when the snow and rainfall is low, the Missouri
seems to hold its own as far as fishing is concerned. It has an almost spring creek appearance
and provides excellent trout habitat.  Although it is a tailwater, at times you will see anglers
using tube floats to drift the river.
